Kurt van Hees recognised the benefits of food phosphates in meat processing in the forties.

As a pioneer in this area, Van Hees developed many well-known patented processing additives.

Van Hees founded VAN HEES GmbH in the year 1947. His contacts to the butchers’ trade and meat industry expanded with the help of sales consultants specialised in the technology.

The company’s major manufacturing facility in the Rheingau region was built in the sixties. Branch offices were set up in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands after Hendrik van Hees, the founder’s son, joined the company.

After Hendrik van Hees’s untimely death, Brigitte and Ilonka van Hees took the reins as joint CEOs in what is still a family enterprise. After reaching the age of consent, Julia van Hees, the daughter of Ilonka van Hees, also became a shareholder of the company.

Increased demand both at home and abroad are centred on innovative products and new technologies. VAN HEES has become an active global player with its own agencies and sales networks.

Today, VAN HEES delivers its products to thirty-eight countries, while passing on its own know-how in advanced meat processing to its customers in training programmes and seminars.
